On Friday, September 16, 2011 Tosca Banquet & Conference Centre was enchanted by orchestral beauty with Music on the Champs Elysťes, the 2011 Inaugural Oshawa Mayor's Gala in support of the Ontario Philharmonic.

Oshawa's very own Ontario Philharmonic (OP) is the leading performing arts organization in the Durham Region and Greater Toronto Area. Since 1957, the OP has been an integral part of our cultural fabric, providing entertainment at its quintessential best, generating economic and social vibrancy to our community. With its 70 plus musicians, under the careful eye of Maestro Marco Parisotto, it has evolved into one of the most exciting and respected regional orchestras in Ontario and Canada.

I wish to thank all those that attended and supported this fabulous evening of entertainment featuring our young up and coming local talent as well as seasoned professionals. As fortunes would have it, the evening included a surprise appearance by the infamous Michael Burgess. What a night! The exquisite gourmet meal made up of locally grown ingredients to the amazing sponsors and volunteers made the evening not only magical but delightful.

Glen the significant contribution made by Gillett Car Cleaning to the success of this inaugural event is immeasurable and we cannot thank you enough for your generous sponsorship of the centrepiece helping the Ontario Philharmonic to raise over $50,000 to continue its musical journey in our community.

"Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul." (unknown author)

Charles Morison and I invite you to be a part of this annual celebration by booking your calendar now for the 2012 Oshawa Mayor's Gala in support of the Ontario Philharmonic scheduled for Friday,

September 21, 2012.

Yours truly,

John Henry Mayor

As well, we have added another part time counselling position to better serve the needs of the young parents we serve. The funds raised from this Annual Signature Event continue to be used to help fund the services and progranis to the over 400 clients we serve each year. Your support for this event enables Rose of Durham to help these young parents achieve their full potential in becoming strong parents.

Your support is greatly appreciated and needed!

I don't know where to even begin... There is so many things I must thank you for, and even simply saying thank you doesn't seem fitting enough. There is so many ways you truly embraced my ambition and this cause . Beyond hosting an amazing Car Wash Fundraiser, that was such an enormous success you were always encouraging , supportive and as ambitious towards the ride to conquer cancer and what it stood for as myself. You and your staff truly are remarkable individuals. Your business is a definite asset to the mission of conquering cancer and because of the dedication you and your staff have shown me I will continue to ride for this cause as long as I can.

Know that people like yourself act as the inspiration for riders like myself on a mission to conquer cancer!

Thank you Glen

Thank you Gillett Car Cleaning!

Mr. Gillett

I canít begin to express how proud I am of the efforts of the planning committee of the Pink Opal Ball and how grateful I am for the generosity of the many donors, sponsors and volunteers for the evening. Unfortunately, I was out of the country but I have had goose bumps listening to the retelling of the evening from the perspectives of our various volunteers, staff and participants and I think I can feel just a little of the excitement everyone felt at the end of the evening when the cheque was presented. Raising $66,000 is an accomplishment that goes way beyond any of our expectations for our first Gala event and I canít begin to thank you enough. With an anticipated 61% increase in new cancer diagnoses over the next 10 years, I can only promise that Hearth Place will continue to provide services to families in the Durham Region to the best of our abilities thanks to your and the success of this event. The silent and live auctions raise a significant amount of money at these events as well as provide a great deal of entertainment. Jenny and I want to thanks you for your donation of a gift certificate towards detailing services valued at $100. We are continually developing new programs to best meet the needs of our members now and long into the future. We hope we can count on your support again on October 24, 2008 for our 2nd annual Pink Opal Ball. With your support, we can continue to provide the Hope, Encouragement, Acceptance, Reassurance, Trust and Help for which Hearth Place stands.

Yours truly,
